Prior to joining 1-800-GOT-JUNK?, Doug and Darise Ecklund both came from management positions in the retail industry. After Doug fractured his back in a boating accident, he realized he wanted to own his own business. In 2005, Doug and Darise decided to purchase a 1-800-GOT-JUNK? franchise and never looked back! They choose 1-800-GOT-JUNK? because they wanted to have a company that gave back to the community through recycling, donating, and helping people get their space back. Doug and Darise like to travel and are involved in missions work around the world, and have been able to help many charitable organizations in their own community.
