Our lawn mower disposal pricing

If you only have one item, we offer competitive single-item pricing for mowers. Otherwise, our pricing is based on volume, or how much space your items take up in our truck. Think of it like this: the more junk you have, the more truck space you'll need. Our smallest load is ⅛ of a truck, all the way up to a full truck.

How to prepare for your lawn mower disposal appointment

In most cases, no prep is needed before your appointment. However, if your equipment is gas-powered or electric, they do contain hazardous waste, so you will need to do a small amount of prep work before we arrive.

Gas-powered items

Gas is considered hazardous waste, so you will need to empty the fuel and motor oil ahead of time.

Electric or battery-powered items

If your equipment has a battery, you will need to remove it before we can take it away.

Lawn mower disposal FAQs

We offer same-day appointments, so we can be there whenever you need us! Book your appointment online to see a list of available appointments in your area.

Pricing is based on how much space your items occupy in our trucks—anything from ⅛ to a full truckload. You only pay for the space you use, whether it's one large item or smaller pieces. Old lawn mower disposal costs vary by location due to local disposal fees, but we always offer a competitive price. To get the best value, we suggest getting rid of a few items at the same time.

If it's working or repairable, you can donate it to charity or sell it online for parts or reuse. If you choose to recycle, electric mowers may be accepted for free through local recycling programs, while gas-powered mowers must be drained of all gasoline and oil before being dropped off at a scrap metal facility or recycling depot. Of course, the easiest way is to let 1-800-GOT-JUNK? take care of it for you! We’ll handle everything, including recycling or donation if possible.

The most effective and safest method for draining old fuel from lawn equipment is to use a siphon pump. This involves placing an approved fuel container lower than the mower's gas tank, inserting the siphon hose, and pumping to start the flow. Always ensure the engine is cool and you've disconnected the spark plug wire for safety, working in a well-ventilated area. After siphoning the bulk of the fuel, run the engine until it stalls to burn off any remaining fuel. Finally, dispose of the sealed container of old gasoline at a Household Hazardous Waste facility.

We always do our best to recycle and donate as many items as possible. If your items are still in working condition, they may be donated to local charities who can either resell them or give them to people who need them. Otherwise, we take them to recycling facilities or transfer stations, where they can be broken down so their individual components can be recycled or disposed of responsibly.
