Green Junk Removal For The Green Mountain State
1-800-GOT-JUNK? is the Green Mountain State's green solution to junk removal. Our junk hauling team does everything they can to divert junk from going to the landfill. We sort through every load of junk and recycle whenever possible. Up to 60% of the items from our junk removals get recycled through outlets like Salvation Army, ReCycle North, and All-Metals. We even re-use some of our customers' "junk" in our Williston-based office. The desk, bookcase, sofa, and flat-screen computer monitor were all acquired via junk removals.
Our Junk Trucks Run On Biodiesel
We started using biodiesel when Isuzu began a six-month pilot program to test biodiesel usage in the US and Canada. Burlington, Vermont happened to be chosen as one of the test locations. Our junk removal operator in Vermont, Aaron Fastman, was thrilled that his junk trucks could be involved in the biodiesel test. Now 1-800-GOT-JUNK? runs all its trash removal trucks on biodiesel. The benefit? Better mileage and a reduction in greenhouse gas emissions.
Using biodiesel fuel fits in with the environmentally-friendly mindset of 1-800-GOT-JUNK?, which tries to recycle as much of the junk it collects as possible. "The whole company is very green ... the biodiesel just sort of complements that," says Fastman.
