Hi, I’m Aaron Fastman, your local 1-800-GOT-JUNK? owner and operator in Vermont. Opening our South Burlington-based junk removal franchise in 2006, we offer our junk hauling services to Burlington, South Burlington, Essex Junction, Essex, Shelburne, Charlotte, Colchester, Winooski, Ferrisburgh, Vergennes, Stowe, Waterbury, Montpelier, Barre, St. Albans, Rutland, Grand Isle, all of Chittenden County, and Plattsburgh, NY.
I’ve lived and worked in Vermont since 1992 and prior to opening 1-800-GOT-JUNK?, I owned several small businesses and worked at Burton Snowboards in Burlington, and also as a social worker at a local community health agency serving adolescents in South Burlington. When I discovered 1-800-GOT-JUNK? I was ready for a change and looking for a new career path. Helping to run my junk removal franchise is my General Manager, John Wagner.
We are strategically located across from the CSWD Recycle Center on Patchen Road in South Burlington. Our office and four blue 1-800-GOT-JUNK? junk trucks are hard to miss! I’m sure you have noticed our clean, shiny junk trucks strategically parked throughout Chittenden County, and our trash removal team dressed in blue wigs waving to traffic passing by.
Our 1-800-GOT-JUNK? Vermont team is a proud member of the Lake Champlain Chamber of Commerce (LCRCC), Burlington Business Association (BBA), and many more, and we regularly participate in local community events such as the Magic Hat Brewery’s Mardi Gras Parade, United Way Events, and we support many non-profit organizations state wide. We have also donated to the Howard Center, King Street Youth Center, LUND Family Center and other local charity organizations and events. It’s very important for us to work with other local businesses and community organizations to support the Vermont community we live and work in.
1-800-GOT-JUNK? is the Green Mountain State's green solution to junk removal. Our junk hauling team does everything they can to divert junk from going to the landfill. We sort through every load of junk and recycle whenever possible. Up to 100% of the items from our junk removals get recycled through outlets like ReSource/Recycle North, Green Mountain Habitat for Hummanity, Goodwill, Salvation Army, and All-Metals. We even re-use some of our customers' "junk" in our South Burlington based office. The desk, bookcase, sofa, and flat-screen computer monitor were all acquired via junk removals.
The garbage haulers in Vermont offer trash pick-up service only 1 to 3 times per week (depending on your location). They WILL NOT donate or redistribute quality furniture or other reusable items that are placed curbside. Your regular garbage removal service likely has a long list of items they won’t take. In fact, most won’t even consider electronics, furniture, or organic material. Furthermore, “bulky item collection” is limited to certain items, and if the city’s garbage haulers determine an item to be too big or too heavy they are empowered to excuse it from their pickup. They usually don’t make a habit of hauling your junk out of your building for you, either. The home or business owner must bring the items to the curb and they may not extend in front of another property or impede pedestrians’ traffic. The City will only take construction debris associated with “small do-it-yourself projects”. That’s where 1-800-GOT-JUNK? comes in.
1-800-GOT-JUNK? Vermont’s franchise takes it all – and we take your garbage, trash, or junk when you want it gone, on your schedule. Bulky items? No problem! We never leave an item at your place because it’s too big. Our friendly team can take any item you have that’s non-toxic that two people can lift.
We will get your items from wherever they are – no need to move them to the curb, or collect it all in one place. That’s what we’re here for! We do all of that work for you. (We even sweep up the area where your garbage/trash was to give you your space back in better condition than when we arrived). Can you say that about your regular garbage removal service?
We do our best to donate or recycle each piece of junk we pick up. It might be trash to you, but we guarantee that it’s a treasure to someone in need. It’s all a part of our amazing service.
1-800-GOT-JUNK? is your best alternative for garbage and trash pickup in Vermont. Give us a call today. When we come by, you just need to point at the trash you want gone, and we make it disappear!
Dumpsters are a high labor/high maintenance substitute for 1-800-GOT-JUNK?’s junk removal service. First and foremost you must fill the dumpster yourself. When you call 1-800-GOT-JUNK? we do all the heavy lifting and loading. You don’t lift a finger!
While dumpster rentals in Vermont may save some money on paper, there is a physical cost to doing the labor, as well as possible time off from work to load it. Unexpected costs can result from selecting the wrong sized dumpster, filling it with refuse that is either restricted or surcharged, or you’re required to exceed the initial term of the rental. When you call us, you don’t need to worry about any of these issues.
Additionally, the dumpster itself will rest on the property for the entire term of the rental and could potentially damage the underlying asphalt or concrete beneath the dumpster if not properly placed.
1-800-GOT-JUNK? offers the same service with no hassle. We can pick up the items you want gone – including construction debris – at any time. You don’t have to lift it or load it. We often help with dumpster overflow too (if your dumpster is overflowing, we can take away the excess trash, junk or debris).
If you’re considering a dumpster rental for your junk removal needs, you might want to be aware of a few things. You’ll likely have to:
Don’t waste time and energy on renting a dumpster in Vermont when you can call 1-800-GOT-JUNK? for your junk removal, you’ll avoid all the inconveniences that come with a dumpster rental. Plus, we take junk the average trash dumpster rental company won’t, including appliances, scrap metal, electronics, and organic material. We also ensure that your junk gets recycled or reused whenever possible. Since 1989, we’ve saved over 1.5 billion pounds of junk from the landfills, and counting.
If you see our junk hauling team waving at you in their crazy blue wigs, be sure to give them a honk or a wave back! We sure do appreciate it!
On May 3rd our GOT-JUNK family, along with a hand full of volunteers, took to Williston Road and Patchen Road to Green Up our town. We worked for several hours and celebrated with a picnic barbeque. We also thank everyone who participated in cleaning up our beautiful state!
Our General Manager here at 1800-GOT-JUNK? Vermont, John Wagner, had been growing his luscious locks for close to three years in hopes of donating it to the organization Locks of Love. In June of 2014 it was time for John's mane to go, his hair was a whopping 16 inches long, well surpassing the required 12 inches of hair. It is great to see that kind of dedication for a great cause, well done John!
The Clothes Exchange of Burlington hosts a fantastic event every May in which clothing is donated, cleaned, then sold. All of the proceeds go to Camp Ta-kum-ta, a camp that provides challenging, extraordinary experiences in a safe and loving environment for children who have or have had cancer and their families. This is a great organization, one in which we are happy to support year in and year out.
Before the event, we show up with our trucks, load up all of the clothing and bring it to the site of the event. There, we help the volunteers bring in the hundreds of boxes into the building. After the event we break down tables and help move the left over clothes out. We are thankful to be apart of this event and cannot wait for next year!
In June we help set up for the Girls on the Run 5k race. This organization helps girls from 3rd to 8th grade attain social, physical, and emotional well-being through fun and uplifting activities. Glad to be a part of this race, and can't wait to do it again.
