Hi, I'm John Fruscella and I operate the 1-800-GOT-JUNK? Manhattan North franchise. We offer junk removal services to Washington Heights, Inwood, West Bronx, Yonkers, Hastings on the Hudson, and Mt. Vernon. Prior to owning my junk hauling 1-800-GOT-JUNK? franchise I was a stock trader on Wall Street for over 20 years. I was drawn to the world of junk by the uniqueness of the junk removal business and the way it helps people make more space for themselves.
You can see our 1-800-GOT-JUNK? trucks and advertisements everywhere - on the bus, in train stations, malls and local stores! We donate to the Salvation Army and some local churches. Serviced areas include Washington Heights, the west Bronx, both north and south of Yankee Stadium and lower Westchester.
Hi, I'm Derick Ladurantaye, the owner of the 1-800-GOT-JUNK? Manhattan franchise. We remove junk from all areas of Manhattan, including Soho, Tribeca, West Village, East Village, Times Square, Hell's Kitchen, Upper West Side, Upper East Side, Lower East Side, Gramercy Park, Financial District, Battery Park City, Lower Manhattan, Chelsea, Midtown, Harlem, Spanish Harlem, East Harlem, West Harlem and all other areas of New York City. We've removed all kinds of junk from old appliances and household junk, to full office cleanouts. People often ask what happens to their junk when we take it away. We make every effort possible to recycle or donate furniture, household items, scrap metal and all kinds of different junk that we remove from homes and businesses. We work with New York City charities and recycling centers in the NYC to reuse and recycle the junk we haul away before we take items to the landfill.
We also just opened up a sister company to 1-800-GOT-JUNK? called You Move Me, a moving company in Manhattan and its objective is to bring the same high level of customers service to the moving industry as we bring to the junk removal industry. Check out your new favorite local movers in Manhattan and give us a call to help you book your move (after we've gotten rid of all of your junk, of course!).
My name is Evan Cohen and I am the General Manager for 1-800-GOT-JUNK? Brooklyn/Queens. Our company’s philosophy is to make the ordinary business of junk removal EXCEPTIONAL, and that requires us to hire EXCEPTIONAL people. Our TOMs consist of highly trained, personable, hardworking, and professional men and women who practice our service with the utmost integrity.
We are committed to serving the boroughs of Brooklyn, Queens, Bronx, and Staten Island while protecting our community’s environmental interests and supporting as many local charitable causes as possible. The NYC Department of Sanitation offers garbage/trash pick-up service only 2 or 3 times per week (depending on location). They WILL NOT donate or redistribute quality furniture or other reusable items that are placed curbside. Furthermore, “bulk item collection” is limited to 6 items, and if the city’s garbage haulers determine an item to be too big or too heavy they are empowered to excuse it from pickup. The home or business owner must bring the items to the curb and they may not extend in front of another property or impede pedestrians’ traffic. The City will only take construction debris associated with “small do it yourself projects”.
1-800-GOT-JUNK?’s New York franchises take it all – and we take your garbage, trash, or junk when you want it gone, on your schedule. Bulk items? No problem! We never leave an item at your place because it’s too big. Our friendly team can take any item you have that’s non-toxic that two people can lift.
We will get your items from wherever they are – no need to move them to the curb, or collect it all in one place. That’s what we’re for! We do all of that work for you. (We even sweep up the area where your garbage / trash was to give you your space back in better condition than when we arrived).
We do our best to donate or recycle each piece of junk we pick up. It might be trash to you, but we guarantee that it’s a treasure to someone in need. It’s all a part of our amazing service.
1-800-GOT-JUNK? is your best alternative for garbage and trash pickup in New York City and area. Give us a call today. When we come by, you just need to point at the trash you want gone, and we make it disappear.
Dumpsters are a high labor/high maintenance substitute for 1-800-GOT-JUNK?’s junk removal service. First and foremost you must fill the dumpster yourself. When you call 1-800-GOT-JUNK? we do all the heavy lifting and loading. You don’t lift a finger!
While dumpster rentals in New York may save some money on paper, there is a physical cost to doing the labor, as well as possible time off from work to load it. Unexpected costs can result from selecting the wrong sized dumpster, filling it with refuse that is either restricted or surcharged, or you’re required to exceed the initial term of the rental. When you call us, you don’t need to worry about any of these issues.
Additionally, the dumpster itself will rest on the property for the entire term of the rental and could potentially damage the underlying asphalt or concrete beneath the dumpster if not property placed.
1-800-GOT-JUNK? offers the same service with no hassle. We can pick up the items you want gone – including construction debris – at any time. You don’t have to lift it, or load it. We often help with dumpster overflow too (if your dumpster is overflowing, we can take away the excess trash, junk or debris).
Don’t waste time and energy on renting a dumpster in NYC when you can call 1-800-GOT-JUNK?
1-800-GOT-JUNK? Brooklyn/Queens recently participated in a local Toy Drive for Second Chance Toys – a non-profit organization dedicated to keeping used toys out of landfills, refurbishing them, and distributing them to children in need. Our franchise handled the logistics of picking up toys from local donation centers and bringing them to Viacom (the media giant) so that volunteers at their NYC headquarters could clean and treat the toys for re-use. We then delivered the refurbished toys directly to several children’s hospitals and centers for underprivileged children in our area. This was the third year in a row that our franchise donated our services.

1-800-GOT-JUNK? Brooklyn/Queens was a “Major Sponsor” of the 29th annual AIDS WALK in NYC’s Central Park. This was the 6th consecutive year that franchises from NYC and Long Island donated their time and resources to help clean up the park after more than 30,000 participants completed the course. The event raised more than $3 million dollars to be shared by more than 40 organizations that offer housing, medication, and clothes to people living with AIDS and HIV. The Brooklyn-Queens franchise volunteered eight trucks and eight Truck Team Members to be on-site from pre-event prep at 7pm on Saturday thru 7pm on Sunday.
The New York Times ran an article on how 1-800-GOT-JUNK? evolved into an international success story in the world of junk removal.
Brian Scudamore recounts the humble beginnings of 1-800-GOT-JUNK?'s junk removal services. He began removing junk as a part-time gig to fund his college education. The company started off as a one-man-will-haul-junk operation. Slowly, Scudamore increased the size of his junk removal crew, expanded his trash hauling fleet, and even brought the service over to nearby Victoria. Today, he is the CEO of an international junk removal corporation that is hauling trash across three different countries.
