Hi, I'm Drew Trautman and I own the local 1-800-GOT-JUNK? junk removal franchise in the Newark area of New Jersey. Our junk hauling operation covers a large portion of north Jersey from Woodbridge, out to Morristown, up to Wayne, over to Teaneck and back down to Hoboken.
I grew up in a military family and had spent a portion of my childhood in the Fort Monmouth and Trenton areas. After working for the corporate headquarters of 1-800-GOT-JUNK? for three years as a Field Advisor, I decided to take the plunge and purchase a 1-800-GOT-JUNK? franchise. New Jersey was an ideal fit for me and the business so I moved to Berkeley Heights in 2005 and we opened our doors in March of 2006! Since our launch we've been actively trying to get our 1-800-GOT-JUNK? name out to the local community. You may have seen our trucks parked at the Livingston Circle on Route 10, out on Route 22 in Union, in Jersey City at the Holland Tunnel, over in Maplewood at the Home Depot, and on Route 17 in Hasbrouck Heights. You may have also seen us with our blue wigs on doing what we call 'waves' all over our territory and most memorably over at Giants Stadium to celebrate the Super Bowl Victory!
We are also giving back to the community by partnering with Second Chance Toys to recycle used toys, as well as with the Salvation Army and Goodwill to recycle good used furniture, books and clothes. It is important to us to not just remove your junk and give you your space back, but also to dispose of everything appropriately and recycle as much as possible.
We are committed to our customers and to the environment and look forward to showing you why we are your best solution to that pile of stuff you've always wanted to get rid of!

Prior to joining this junk removal business, I spent the better part of 20 years in the magazine publishing industry. An important part of our 1-800-GOT-JUNK? mission is to support the efforts of the many organizations devoted to helping the less fortunate in our areas.
Our team participates as a group in the March of Dimes walks and The Race for the Cure. We donate many gently used items people discard to organizations such as: Homefront, The Trenton Mission, a Touch of Love, The Salvation Army, Habitat for Humanity and The Humane Society. We are always looking to connect with local organizations that assist the needy in our area, so if you think we might be able to help your group or organization, please let us know.
Living in the most heavily populated state in the country, we understand the importance and need to recycle. Our goal is to donate or recycle everything we can. We recycle computers, cardboard, paper, plastic, metal, concrete, rock, asphalt, tile, clean wood. One of the very unique things that attracted me to 1-800-GOT-JUNK? was its commitment to recycling. Not just of the regular stuff like metal and paper, but the recycling of gently used items to those in need all around us.
There is no greater feeling than the one that comes when you are able to make the life of another a little better. That's what 1-800-GOT-JUNK? is all about. It makes getting out of bed and heading to work something that I look forward to every day.
In order to stay current with those that live in the areas we service we are members of a number of different organizations such as the Eastern Monmouth County Chamber of Commerce, Mercer County Chamber of Commerce and PAL.

Our junk removal franchise was the first of two to open in New Jersey in the summer of 2006. We are located in New Brunswick and are privileged to serve customers' junk removal needs from Basking Ridge – south to Princeton & Lawrenceville. Early on, we developed a lasting partnership with the Rutgers University Office of Student Employment. We are fortunate to have several Rutgers students working for us currently and in the past. Our office also partners with nearby Raritan Valley Community College for potential team members.
From the start, our 1-800-GOT-JUNK? franchise has been active members in the Franklin Township Chamber of Commerce and recently joined the state Chamber of Commerce. We perennially sponsor local little league and women's softball teams who often participate in local charity events throughout the year. I am responsible for junk removal service in seven counties starting with Burlington, going down to Salem, and all counties in between. I have four 1-800-GOT-JUNK? trucks, six employees and a need to be the best junk removal franchise in the area!
We’ve done jobs for major sport stars to different government agencies. We also helped out the Salvation Army, March of Dimes, and a couple different schools and churches. We donate to many different charitable organizations, consisting of the Goodwill, Red, White, and Blue in Voorhees, and the Single Fathers of Camden that was featured on Extreme Home Makeover. We also recycle all our metal, paper, cardboard, and rocks when possible. I am personally a member of the Cherry Hill Regional Chamber of Commerce and the Burlington Camden County Association of Realtors.
I love this job more than any other position that I have held. It’s different everyday. We could be moving the most exquisite paintings from a beautiful house in Moorestown to picking up a freezer made in 1950 from some 3rd floor apartment. It is that element of the unknown that makes my job and life exciting. It definitely beats stocking green beans on a daily basis! What makes things even better for me is that I am a huge sports fan and we have already done jobs for an Eagles pro-bowler and a major football analyst. Everyday is an adventure with 1-800-GOT-JUNK?!

One of the gratifying benefits of owning a 1-800-GOT-JUNK? franchise is to be part of the communities which we serve. We sponsor local sports teams, support local charities and provide a service of junk hauling that our customers have come to appreciate! Most of what we collect we try to recycle or donate. We can donate items such as furniture, clothes and toys to local organizations. People to People in Nanuet, NY is one charity with which we work very closely. After donating, we send the charitable donation receipts back to our customers. Recycling is also an important part of our business, and we look to recycle metal, paper and various other items such as concrete, stone and wood, where possible.
Our office is located in Paramus, New Jersey, right in the middle of Bergen County. We are less than a mile off the Garden State Parkway and Route 17, near the Lord & Taylor Fashion Center and Paramus Park Mall. Kids Love Our Junk Removal Trucks
In September of 2007, one of New Jersey's 1-800-GOT-JUNK? junk removal franchises participated in a fundraiser for the Junior League of Elizabeth-Plainfield (JLEP) called "Touch A Truck". This event raised over $13,000 for JLEP community service projects which assist women and children in crisis. The event was a blast with our 1-800-GOT-JUNK? junk hauling truck mixed in with military vehicles, police and fire vehicles, construction equipment and tons of other trucks of all shapes and sizes. The kids loved the event! They were climbing in and on our junk hauling trucks and we had a blast passing out miniature versions of our trucks to all the kids!Food Drive Is Powered By Junk
1-800-GOT-JUNK?'s New Jersey Northeast franchise participated in a food drive for the Community Food Bank of New Jersey during the holiday season in 2007. During the months of November and December we asked our clients at each junk removal job if they had food that they would like to donate to the Food Bank.
