What We Do
For over 10 years, 1-800-GOT-JUNK has been San Diego’s most trusted junk removal provider. Our four locally owned and operated franchises service the entire city and county and remove anything which is non-toxic that two people can lift: old office or home items, furniture, electronic waste, yard debris, or anything else you need removed. Whether you are moving, cleaning up, or trying to fit a car in the garage again, join the tens of thousands of San Diegans who have let 1-800-GOT-JUNK help.
We do all the loading and lifting and donate and recycle as much of each load as possible. Our friendly uniformed drivers arrive on-time, provide up front pricing, and all you have to do is point. After we load the junk up, we donate to local charities and recycle as much as possible. Find out why San Diego keeps our 17 trucks in the county busy by calling or booking online today!

We Discuss Electronics Recycling on Local TV
1-800-GOT-JUNK? San Diego was recently featured on the local television show “How Can I Help San Diego?” The show is a wonderful production that focuses on energy and environmental issues in San Diego County and how ordinary citizens can make a positive impact in this area. We were asked to be on the program to discuss our involvement in California’s Electronic Waste Recycling Program. San Diego County 1-800-GOT-JUNK? franchises have been part of this program since it was implemented in 2005. Go here to see us discuss the program and how we collect and recycle televisions, monitors, fax machines, printers and the like (please go to the 20 minute, 40 second mark).
Like any state run program, involvement means: keeping up to date with changes in the laws and regulations, following and adapting to the changes, being available for impromptu and unannounced inspections, and, of course, a decent amount of reporting and paperwork. The amazing thing about 1-800-GOT-JUNK’s? involvement in this program is that we have never passed the cost of participating in it on to our customers via a surcharge or additional fee.
Most junk removal or hauling operations may charge additional fees to take electronics. We do not. Not only are we one of the only San Diego hauling companies, if not the only, that is officially part of the California E-Waste Recycling program, we don’t pass the cost on to the customer for doing the right thing. (Check here to see if whomever you are contracting to remove your electronics is a state approved Collector.) Use our service and you will have the peace of mind to know that not only are we following all of the rules with regards to E-waste in California, we also do the right thing as it relates to anything else that can be recycled or re-used. The biggest advantage to using a company that follows all the rules might just be that you can rest assured that your electronics (which can often be traced back to you) will not be illegally dumped or shipped somewhere you do not want them to go.
Have some electronics you need recycled? Call us or book online. From Imperial Beach to Alpine, from Chula Vista to Oceanside and Encinitas book with us knowing that we will get your old electronics where they need to go- hassle free.
1-800-GOT-JUNK? Recycling for Green Week
Here is a link to an appearance we made on San Diego's NBC- KNSD in late 2010. We were invited to discuss recycling in San Diego for Green Week. We discussed how 1-800-GOT-JUNK? helps our customers recycle: metal, electronics, re-usable items, paper and the like. We also gave suggestions on how to correctly dispose of hazardous items like fluorescent lights (very hard to remember what they're called, apparently), paint and batteries.

Junk Removals on HBO Movie Set
San Diego South's 1-800-GOT-JUNK? have done trash removals at the former El Camino Hotel, where HBO's "John From Cincinnati" was shot. The current owners were very nice and did not want to have to deal with removing the almost four truckloads of junk we took out of there. The strangest of the junk removals from the hotel was a cement deer that had been poured into the ground and set with rebar.Junk Removers Rescue Police
When San Diego Northeast junk removers Adam Daly and Brent Jameson (BJ) were out on the junk trucks a couple of weeks ago, they heard a crash. They looked down the street and saw that a police SUV had flipped over near the highway onramp 50 yards ahead. The crew immediately pulled over and BJ approached the accident scene — he is a certified first responder, which means he has training in CPR , basic first aid, and crisis control. "I have never had to use any of the training and I was very nervous," BJ said. "From a distance, the officer did not appear to be moving. But, as I approached, he proved to be conscious and responsive." The officer had surface lacerations and neck and back pain. Another man who was also a certified first responder, had his first-aid kit out and BJ helped him treat the officer’s wound. Rescue services arrived shortly thereafter and took over. Kudos to BJ and Adam!Happily Married
Ben Hoskins (owner of 1-800-GOT-JUNK? trash removal services in north San Diego) and his wife were married at the Thursday Club in the Ocean Beach neighborhood of San Diego. It only made sense to drive away in a 1-800-GOT-JUNK? junk hauling truck!
