Supporting the Nashville Predators
Our 1-800-GOT-JUNK? team has been attending Nashville Predators hockey games for the past two years as a team building event. We leave straight from work so we are still in our 1-800-GOT-JUNK? uniforms. Last year we decided to wear our blue wigs in our support of the team. The outcry was amazing, people laughing, pointing, poking jokes but mostly having a good time. Every year now in the spring we attend 4-5 games, and it's always a BLAST!
Free Trash Removal
Last summer our 1-800-GOT-JUNK? franchise volunteered to do trash removal for the Juvenile Diabetes of Nashville's downtown event. The event was a success, many more people than expected participated at the event which in turn meant we got rid of even more junk and trash. We had only found out about the event three days prior. The event coordinators had not secured trash removal and were running out of time, so they very appreciative of our efforts to handle the junk hauling for them. We have already volunteered to do the junk removal for this event this year.Aid For Hurricane Katrina Victims
In 2005 our 1-800-GOT-JUNK? teamed up with Realtor Jody Griffey of YuYu Agents and Partners with Heart to clean out both a house and a condo and then donated the furniture to the victims of Hurricane Katrina through Graceworks and My Friend's House (Group home for boys). We repeated this effort through the initial Katrina effort, which opened doors for us to work with other charities as well. This was a very gratifying effort that allowed us to make a difference in the lives of individuals struck by devastation and horrific circumstances.1-800-GOT-JUNK? Gives Back to Nashville
As we approached Earth Day in April 2007, we contemplated how we could contribute given the nature of our junk removal business. We searched what activities were going on in the communities and found a program online "Keep Williamson County Beautiful". I inquired about what activities of participation there were and we decided on the "Adopt a Road" program. We selected a stretch of road in the Brentwood/Cool Springs area. Participation required us to not only take away trash (e.g. litter) from this street on Earth Day but actually four times a year. Earth Day was a great event for us; a lot of residents were very appreciative of our participation. It continues to be one of the best activities we do because the guys have fun while they haul junk for a good cause. When we first started we only had two trucks and three employees hauling trash for us. We have grown since then to 5 trucks and 10 employees, so we can do even more junk removal! We are looking into expanding our "Adopt a Road Program" to other areas. Giving back to our communities through our junk removal services is a huge part of who we are!
