We currently service our area of the San Gabriel Valley with four trucks. Our team can often be seen around town on many major intersections like Highland and Franklin or LaBrea and Santa Monica, which are our favorites! Our clean and shiny trucks can be seen cruising around town or sleeping at their homes on Venice and LaBrea, Griffith Park and Hyperion, Sunset and Fountain, Highland and Melrose, Fairfax and Beverly or LaCienega and Wilshire, just to name a few.

Our local office is located on Sunset Blvd. East of LaBrea and West of Vine. From the 101 freeway you can exit Highland head South past Hollywood Blvd. and the Highlands. Turn left heading East onto Sunset Blvd. at the corner of Hollywood High school which will be on your right hand side. We are two blocks West of Amoeba Music and the Jack in the Box on Cahuenga towards the CNN towers.

The most interesting job we've experienced so far was the removal of hundreds of brand new wedding dresses. We just don't know what kind of jobs we are going to book as everyday brings a new adventure in this business. Luckily, we were able to donate over 200 wedding dresses to “Brides for Breast Cancer” – a segment of the Making Memories Organization. This is just one example of the kinds of items encountered in our business. Like the wedding dresses, we do our very best to donate or recycle the items we receive.

I love this junk hauling company because we are carving out a niche many people don't even know exists. I was with Starbucks Coffee for six years during the earlier years and much of this company reminds me of that. More importantly, I love this 1-800-GOT-JUNK? brand because it has enabled me to build an incredibly talented and driven management team. One of my first Truck Team Members, Darren Tavitian, is now not only the General Manager for the Los Angeles Coast 1-800-GOT-JUNK? franchise but a business partner with the purchase of our 1-800-GOT-JUNK? franchise in San Diego. “Drew Boyles happened to be a very likable guy who practices what he preaches and would never have any of his employees do something he wouldn't do himself. A little after a year working for Drew and his 1-800-GOT-JUNK? franchise, I was sent to Vancouver for training and while up there drank the 1-800-GOT-JUNK? Kool-Aid. During this time period, Drew was expanding his business by acquiring new territories such as Orange County and put me at the helm of his flagship franchise, Los Angeles Coast. What a ride! I blindly started this career assuming it would be temporary and instead have worked my way up the ladder to General Manager of a Top 20 revenue performing franchise and franchise partner myself.”

We absolutely live and breathe by the play hard work hard mantra. One of my favorite experiences with 1-800-GOT-JUNK? was when we determined that a job that was initially estimated by the client as a 60 minute job actually turned into a 21 truckload job that had to be completed the same day! We rallied the troops mustering 7 trucks to get it done for the client.

Another reason I love this junk hauling business is because it enables us to help our local communities. Examples of us supporting organizations include: El Segundo Education Foundation, El Segundo School District, Manhattan Beach Education Foundation, Muscular Dystrophy Association, Relay for Life, Tree Musketeers, El Segundo Richmond Street Fair, El Segundo Co-Op Nursery School, El Segundo School District. Finally, I am proud of how we help the environment. We are a California State approved electronic waste (e-waste) collector and in 2006 and 2007, we recycled over 114,000 pounds of computers, TVs, monitors and other electronics though our Los Angeles office alone! We also recycle and donate metal, paper and cardboard, used appliances and furniture.

We are located in a small light industrial warehouse in the center of El Segundo, just behind the newly constructed Grand Plaza. We are at 231 Arena St in the corner warehouse space which is adjacent to the alley parallel with and behind Grand Ave. The El Segundo public skate park and Teen Center, as well as the El Segundo Boy Scout House are across Grand avenue from us.
