Three locally owned 1-800-GOT-JUNK? junk removal franchises that service the entire Minneapolis and St. Paul metro area from St. Cloud to Lakeville, Stillwater to Wayzata. When our first operation opened in 2000 we were determined to revolutionize the way people get rid of their unwanted junk. In just seven years we have grown to fourteen 1-800-GOT-JUNK? trucks and have brought not just professionalism, but energy and responsibility to the junk removal business.
We are a full service junk removal company – I hear customers call it rubbish removal, trash removal, or waste hauling – if you don’t need it, and it’s taking up space that you need in your home or office, then call us and we’ll remove it for you. We can take away just about anything, and have seen a lot of junk: old fridges, tired ovens, broken microwaves, outdated computers, used mattresses, worn furniture, garden debris, construction waste and more. Working with specialty recyclers and charities we recycle well over 60% of the junk we haul and in most of the metros what isn’t recycled or reused goes to an energy facility that reclaims the trash for electricity, keeping it out of landfills. Andrew Knutson and Ben Cowan have been operating their Saint Paul / Minneapolis franchise of 1-800-GOT-JUNK? since 2003. Both came out of their respective corporate worlds to reap the satisfaction of being pioneers in professionalizing the junk removal industry. In 7 years, they’ve helped over 15,000 people in the Twin Cities remove unwanted items from their lives – like furniture, appliances, construction debris, computers, electronics, to just about anything you can think of that someone might classify as junk, trash, garbage or unwanted treasures. From single items jobs, to multi truck load garage, home or business cleanouts, we remove it all.
While their business removes a lot of junk, they also pride themselves in how much they are able to divert from the waste stream and landfills. Almost all of the metal taken is recycled through various recyclers. Televisions, computers, and other e-waste or electronics are recycled. Many items are donated to Goodwill, the Salvation Army, and Bridging. And a lot of the remaining junk is taken to Hennepin County transfer stations that end up burning off the junk and converting that energy into electricity to power 25,000 homes each year.
Their territory covers a very large area including some of the western suburbs like Plymouth, Maple Grove, & Golden Valley to the eastern suburbs of Roseville, White Bear Lake, Woodbury and Stillwater, and all the way south down to Eagan and Apple Valley.

Hi, I’m Anthony Stamson. My wife, Carol, and I own the 1-800-GOT-JUNK? franchise that services the southwestern Twin Cities. I have wanted to own my own business for sometime, but I wanted a business that was fun and interesting. When I found 1-800-GOT-JUNK? I knew it was the right fit! Between meeting great customers, hauling away some interesting junk and working with a fantastic crew I couldn’t have asked for more.
On top of that we are turning a boring, dirty old business into a professional, fun experience and we get to be in on the beginning of a new green revolution that will change the way we all think about our waste and resource use. If you are moving, cleaning out the basement for a remodeling project or just need to get rid of some old furniture give us a call.
Our biggest junk removal job was in a little house in Minneapolis where they had managed to pile up 25 truckloads of junk! We can do it all. We are the junk removal experts! Our office is located in Bloomington near 90th and Lyndale. We are just a block north of the Great Bear Center across the street from U-Haul.

Pat is a resident of north Minneapolis and lives right on the border of Robbinsdale. In his spare time he loves working out, eating, playing drums, listening to music and hanging out with friends. Support for Twin Cities Fundraising and Charity
1-800-GOT-JUNK? is not only environmentally conscious, but socially conscious. We support and work with a number of charitable organizations here in the Twin Cities. This winter we brought our trucks and people out in force to support the City of Lakes Loppet, an internationally recognized ski race through Theodore Wirth Park and across Lake of the Isles into the heart of Uptown. The Loppet is the primary fund raising event for the City of Lakes Nordic Ski Foundation that supports fitness and skiing programs for inner city youth.
We have also worked with organizations like the Arthritis Foundation to provide support for their walk and many smaller organizations as well. If you have a charitable event where we may be of help to you, please contact us.
STCAR Realtors Compete in Golf Event for a Toyota
How about a new car for a hole-in-one? At the August, 2007 golf event for the Southern Twin Cities Association of Realtors, 1-800-GOT-JUNK? gave each participating member a chance to win a new Toyota Scion xB for "simply" hitting a hole-in-one. More than 100 members gave it a try but unfortunately nobody was lucky enough to win the car. We'll try again at the August 2008 event, so if you're a member and want to give it a try, make sure to sign up for the golf tournament!

We’ve picked up a truckload of Garden Gnomes, refrigerators of spoiled meat, and some couches that you wonder if they were ever really in style. But the strangest thing we’ve ever gotten is in the photo below. What is it? We have no idea. A year of internet searches and showing it to visitors at our office has generated a lot of creative guesses but no plausible answer.
