Saluting Junk Removal in Dallas
Perry Lamy, owner of 1-800-GOT-JUNK? in Dallas, never thought he'd find success in junk removal of all things. After completing a "high-tech" 35-year career in the United States Air Force, Perry Lamy is putting his management skills and experience to a different use. He is now a leader in the "low tech" world of garbage collection, trash removal, and junk disposal. Instead of flying in the Air Force, he's now providing full-service recycling and junk removal to customers fighting the junk war. Lamy is creating new living space for his customers while promoting a greener Earth.
Cleaning Out Your Child's Bedroom
Kids and junk go together like peanut butter and jelly. Removing the junk from a child's bedroom before the start of the school year is an annual ritual for many. Perry Lamy of 1-800-GOT-JUNK? advises parents who're overwhelmed by their children's junk. Begin by clearing out the trash from the spaces that your children use the most often. Schedule a cleanout date with a junk removal service like 1-800-GOT-JUNK? or local charity.

Dallas Stars Line Up w/1-800-GOT-JUNK?

Service to community is a passion of our Dallas junk removal operators. With help from a neighbor, Perry and Peggy organized the first annual 1-800-GOT-JUNK? night with the Dallas Stars. The goal: raise money for one of the company's charities, Jonathan's Place, a Dallas emergency shelter for at-risk kids. The event was held at the Feb. 5th game against the Vancouver Canucks. Our trucks were accepting donations of clothing, toys, and recyclables (e.g. cell phones, laptops and batteries).

Junk Removal to Thank Veterans
Last October, the 1-800-GOT-JUNK? Dallas Central provided debris removal and labor in support of the 2007 Veteran's Day project sponsored by Rebuilding Together Greater Dallas. The project involved the remodeling and improvement of seven homes of US military veterans in the Dallas area. The 1-800-GOT-JUNK? team donated labor, transportation, and dump fees to remove the remodeling and renovation debris generated by other contractors and volunteers. They also removed junk and garbage within each of the seven homes. Our truck teams were proud to participate in this project that offered a small "thank you" for the enormous sacrifices and dedicated service of our local veterans.

Cartridges For Kids
1-800-GOT-JUNK? Dallas Central has partnered with Cartridges for Kids to recycle laser, fax, copier and inkjet cartridges, cell phones, PDAs, laptops, iPods, and DVD movies. The revenue generated by this activity is donated to Dallas' Jonathan's Place, an emergency shelter for at-risk kids. This has turned out to be a great way to protect the environment while helping the most precious resource, our children. The company also supports Habitat for Humanity by donating useable building materials, home fixtures, and furniture to the South Collin County ReStore located in Plano.
Charity Benefit Junk Removal
Dallas Central participated in the Operation Sweet Success, a Girl Scout project to send Girl Scout Cookies to US soldiers stationed overseas. A number of other charities benefit from donations to several thrift stores in the area to include Collin County Children's Advocacy Center, Cancer Federation, Humane Society Animal Rescue Klub, Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals of Dallas. Finally, 1-800-GOT-JUNK? Dallas Central donates to Cal Farley's Boys Ranch and Girlstown USA, Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts of America, the Dallas Vintage Shop supporting local theater groups, Irish Mike's Halfway House for Alcoholic Rehabilitation, Hesed International who help indigents, and the Shih Tzu Adoption and Rescue Society of Texas. Perry and Peggy believe an important cornerstone of their junk business is to contribute to worthy causes that help the community and to improve the lives of needy individuals.
