International Beach Clean-up Day
On a beautiful summer day in Honolulu, 1-800-GOT-JUNK? and many volunteers from around the area participated in International Beach Clean-Up day, and was it ever a success.
The truck and a few of the 1-800-GOT-JUNK? team members helped clean up Ka’ena Point, which had some very surprising objects littering the pristine beach.
“It took us half a day to clean-up, but there was tires, pop bottles, cans, plastic bags, just a bunch of litter,” said Matt McKinney, Operations Manager for 1-800-GOT-JUNK? in Hawaii. “But there was BBQs and tents there too, and the worse part was that there were dirty diapers.”
That’s right, it’s not messes and dirty clean-ups, mattress removals, electronics recycling or massive junk removals that the 1-800-GOT-JUNK? guys are afraid of, but dirty diapers, it might have something to do with children and growing older.
The team was able to haul away an amazing three quarter full truck of waste from the beach clean-up and the beach was back to being it’s naturally beautiful self. When it comes to junk removal in Honolulu or anywhere in the Hawaii area, it’s got to be 1-800-GOT-JUNK? From community clean-ups, to volunteer efforts, no job is too big or too small for 1-800-GOT-JUNK?
