Environmental
About 65% of all "junk" material that goes into Cameron's 1800GOTJUNK trucks gets diverted from the landfill.
 
Metals, paper and cardboard are taken to various recycling depots. Even foam chips/packing peanuts are reused by donation to a local UPS franchise. None of what Cameron does to protect the environment is mandatory. In fact, it would likely be less time consuming to merely dispose of the items, but Cameron prefers to take the time and expend the energy necessary to sort through the items. This minimizes environmental waste and increases the chance of identifying donatable items.
 
Social Responsibility
Cameron’s environmental business practices have resulted in significant donations to charitable organizations. Foremost among these have been Haven Hospice through their Attic Store and The Children's Home Society's Tot Spot Store, to which Cameron has donated $20,000 and $5,000 worth of items (at their prices), respectively, in the last 12 months.
 
Cameron has also discounted his service, at times offering it for free to numerous other charity organizations--Interfaith Hospitality, Rebuilding Together North Central Florida, Catholic Charities and currentproblems.org --in their ongoing efforts to clean up local watersheds.
