Hi, I am Yoree Grozenok, operator of your local Okanagan 1-800-GOT-JUNK? franchise.

My love for the junk removal business began as a driver in Vancouver. Working for our corporate franchise, owned by 1-800-GOT-JUNK? CEO Brian Scudamore, was motivation to grow myself and this great company I am a part of. In 2007, I moved my life from Vancouver to beautiful Kelowna, BC to run the Okanagan franchise of 1-800-GOT-JUNK? for franchise partners Craig and Lea Anne Sexton.

We have great plans and exciting vision for our Okanagan 1-800-GOT-JUNK? junk hauling business. Being truly passionate about the culture of customer service is something we all share. Old Electronics Spared From the Dump

There is a lot less old electronic junk gathering dust in Kelowna closets this weekend following the annual e-waste recycling pickup.

Kelowna area residents were given a chance to unload their unwanted electronic devices free of charge Saturday during 1-800-GOT-JUNK’s annual e-waste pickup at KLO Road.

Organizer Yoree Grozenok says more than 200 dropped off their items.

“We had over 1,000 units of eWaste that filled six trucks and weighed more than 15,000 pounds. Every single unit will be recycled, none of it will go into a landfill,” says Grozenok.

He says many of the computers people dropped off were functional and have been donated to local charities.

“We got some really antique items, we’re talking about cell phones from the 80s or very first computers available. We actually had to turn a few people away at the end since we could not keep up.”
