Why E-Waste is Harmful
Electronic equipment contains toxic materials that can pose health and environmental risks, particularly when disposed of in landfills, where toxins may leak into the soil and ground water. Only about 11 percent of electronics are recycled, according to the recent U.S. EPA estimates and 1-800-GOT-JUNK? wants to help make recycling easier.
