Territory: Junk Removal - Saskatoon
Address:

Hi, I'm Quinn Magnuson, your local Saskatoon 1-800-GOT-JUNK? franchise owner. Before entering the business of junk removal, I had a five-year career in the CFL and a short teaching stint at Saskatoon's Holy Cross High School. In February 2005, my wife Kirsten and I opened the doors to our junk removal business after realizing the opportunity and need for our service in the city of Saskatoon.

You may have seen our teams dressed up in blue wigs, waving and making people smile on 8th Street, or on the corner of Circle Drive and Millar Avenue. You might also notice our trucks, affectionately called "Dory" and "Sully" in honour of the blue Disney characters, on Warman and 33rd, 8th St, and Venture Crescent in front of RONA. Watch for the newest additions to our fleet - two biodiesel trucks.

In 2007, our junk removal business donated or recycled 58% of all items we picked up. We support many local charities, including Community Living, Salvation Army, Village Green MCC, and the Great Big Lion Thrift Store. Helping out the community is important to Kirsten and myself, because we feel everyone can take on the responsibility of recycling and keeping the earth healthy. We help divert everything from good used furniture, household items and even electronics (e-waste) from our local landfills. more bio >>

One of the best things about owning a part of the 1-800-GOT-JUNK? franchise is meeting and talking to new people every day. We see and meet people from so many different walks of life in our job, and that is important to us as we do more than just remove junk, we are trying to help people remove their obstacles. Kirsten and I are both proud members of the Saskatoon community. We are members of the Saskatoon Chamber of Commerce, the North Saskatoon Business Association, the 7:22 Club and I am a member of the Saskatoon Kinsmen. Business is about relationships, with other businesses and with our clients. By reaching out and meeting those people, we can make our business better by listening to the best practices of those more experienced than us and also provide a better service to the people of Saskatoon. In 2007, we won both the SABEX and ABEX Awards for marketing and an NSBA Award for team-building. This year, we are nominated once again for both SABEX and ABEX awards and the NSBA Green Award for environmental stewardship. The business community here is very warm and receptive to those just starting out, and it has helped me and Kirsten get through the first year as we worked to make a name for ourselves and the company. Our job is different every day, and we enjoy that.

Our Saskatoon office is located at #102 - 2002 Quebec Ave North, half a block south of Circle Drive, in the North End. We are located in the Quebec Business Centre, which is nestled between BN Steel & Metal, and Buns Master Bakery. The best way to find us is to turn south off of Circle Drive, then look for the big blue 1-800-GOT-JUNK? signs in our window!
