Hi, we are Luc and Pierrette Raymond and we purchased the Ottawa 1-800-GOT-JUNK? junk removal business in 2000. Our shiny blue and green 1-800-GOT-JUNK? trucks service from the heart of downtown Ottawa to Kanata, Orleans, Gloucester, Stittsville, Glebe, Carp, Russell and everywhere in between!

In order to start our junk hauling business we had to move our young family from Timmins, Ontario, home of Shania Twain, 800 kilometers to the nation's capital, Ottawa. The local media, the Ottawa Citizen, the Ottawa Sun, the Ottawa Business Journal, AChannel (previously the NewRO), and CJOH loved our story of going from kitchen tools to junk so much that we are frequent guests on their radio shows and television broadcasts. We've also done numerous clean-up projects for HGTV's "Room to Grow" and "Me, My House and I".

Since starting our 1-800-GOT-JUNK? franchise, we have been strong supporters of the community: from our partnership with the City of Ottawa in the annual Spring Cleaning the Capital and Fall Cleaning the Capital clean-up campaigns, through the countless donations we make to Habitat for Humanity, Shepherds of Good Hope, St. Joe's Women Centre, the Salvation Army, and the Boy Scouts of Canada.

We are also members of the Greater Ottawa Chamber of Commerce, the Better Business Bureau and are long-time members of BNI (Business Network International).

Pierrette is the past-president (2006) of the Canadian Association of Professional Speakers, Ottawa chapter and has won the prestigious 40 Under Forty Award, presented by the Ottawa Business Journal, in 2006.

Ottawa Chamber of Commerce

Every year, the City of Ottawa launches its annual Spring & Fall Cleaning the Capital Campaigns. For more than seven years, Ottawa's 1-800-GOT-JUNK? franchise has partnered with these cleanup campaigns to do junk pickups. We pick up local trash and junk from Ottawa's parks and streets. Over 10,000 tonnes of waste have been picked up in this community project alone!

Creepy Junk Pickup

It was our strangest junk removal, and creepiest too! Our truck crews attended to what we thought would be a normal residential junk pickup in Orléans. But when the "junk" turned out to be a coffin, things immediately changed! Read about the weird junk removal.

Getting Our Kids to Remove Junk

Two 13 year old boys spent the day "on the job" as part of a "Take Your Child to Work Day". This meant our crew had two extra junk removers. Joshua, the franchise owners' son, and his friend Alexander, spent the day sweeping floors, picking up and loading junk and household garbage, and doing door-hangers. Junk Removers Support Ottawa Senators

Sens crazy! The Ottawa Senators, our local NHL team, were heading into the playoffs. To show our pride for our team and the spirit we had heading into the playoffs, you could find our junk removal teams doing 'waves' in many high-traffic areas. This included places like Palladium Drive and Bank Street in downtown Ottawa. We were wearing our Ottawa Senators jerseys, waving flags and encouraging team spirit. At the same time, we were advertising our junk pickup services. These were really fun times and involved our junk hauling staff and family members. Pizza and beer followed these high energy waves.

Being good boy scouts! It's always fun and energizing to give back to the community. Our 1-800-GOT-JUNK? team of junk removers were at camp with a group of local boy scouts. We helped them understand the benefits of assisting others in the community. It was a great weekend with the boys!
