Hi, I'm Brent Jameson, Operations Manager for 1-800-GOT-JUNK? in Orange County East. Franchise Partner, Drew Boyles, gave me the opportunity to lead this franchise and it has truly been a life altering experience for me. We have helped several customers regain their space back without having to lift a finger -- we do all the lifting and loadingfor you. We've hauled junk from Anaheim, Santa Ana, Stanton, and Garden Grove just to name a few.
One of the most rewarding parts of our junk removal service is the green initiative we're a part of in Orange County. We've hauled away all kinds of items, including assorted household or office junk, cardboard, newsprint, books, carpet, construction waste, roofing, computers, stereo, concrete, bricks, drywall, fridges, freezers, green waste, soil, lumber, mattresses, box springs, metal, sofas, tires, rims and other rubbish. Of all this waste, we boast about a 60% recycling and donating percentage. Working with local businesses such as Habitat for Humanity of Orange County, Goodwill of Orange County, Adam's Steele of Anaheim, Garcia Recycling of Anaheim, ARC of City of Industry, and other recycling and donation centers across Orange County, we're able to do our part in conserving our environment.
Local city involvement is another great part of being on the 1-800-GOT-JUNK? management team. One of my favorite groups in Orange County is The Santa Ana Chamber of Commerce.
As a member of the Santa Ana Chamber of Commerce Business Connection 1-800-GOT-JUNK? is a preferred vendor for the Chamber. We attend meetings twice a month where we meet with other Santa Ana professionals. The group's culture is much like ours, and the networking opportunities are wonderful.

In an effort to reach more customers, thus eliminating clutter in all of Orange County we park our trucks at busy intersections throughout Northeast Orange County. One of our wave hot spots is off Main street in Huntington Beach by the pier.
I love 1-800-GOT-JUNK? because the scenery always changes and I get to connect with many interesting people. Another great thing about our junk removal business is we recycle and donate as much as possible. The saying is true, "One person's junk is another's treasure”. We have a great relationship with Orange County Goodwill, ensuring that the donatable items go to those who are in need the most. We also donate to children and women's shelters. Additionally, we are proud of the fact that we are a California State approved electronic waste (e-waste) collector. We collect and recycle electronics, metal, construction materials, paper and cardboard, and many other items.

When I first started working for Franchise Partner Drew Boyles, one and a half years ago I started as a Truck Team Member and worked my way up to Route Manager, then Operations Manager. Our Orange County North 1-800-GOT-JUNK? franchise caters to the junk removal needs of Long Beach, Belmont Shore, Belmont Heights, Naples, Lakewood, Seal Beach, Los Alamitos, Buena Park, Cypress, Westminster and more.
Our marketing tactics in the Long Beach area include putting on crazy blue wigs and hanging out on the corners of Livingston and 2nd Street in the Belmont Shore area in the 90803 zip code. You might also catch us at the corner of Lyons and Pacific Coast Highway. We park our truck at the Best Western Hotel, and Golden Sails in Long Beach on the Pacific Coast Highway. We donate as much as possible to the Good Will stores in the 90808 zip code area. I enjoy donating to these stores because it directly benefits people in the community in which I was raised. The local recycling venders we use are SA Recycling and the recycling center at California State University Long Beach.
The craziest job I have been on was a small home where a lady was a pet hoarder. There were lots of small pet cages, bird cages, pet debris and a snake skin big enough to put my leg in. There was also a suit of armor standing in the bath tub and closets full of stuffed animals. The dirtiest job was a two space clean out in a trailer park with sagging sealing tiles, with spider webs stretching from wall to wall and six big screen TVs. It looked like no one had been in or out in over a year!

We will properly collect and recycle thousands of pounds of e-waste on this one day. Examples of electronics we take away are: televisions, computers (incl. batteries, monitors and other parts), and cell phones (incl. circuit boards, LCDs and plastics). Junk Removal Waves Make It On KROQ and Star 98.7
As part of the 1-800-GOT-JUNK? culture, our enthusiastic junk removers do waves to advertise our junk removal services. Our waves have made the local popular radio station KROQ and Star 98.7. The DJs were down in Huntington Beach and one of them said, "Have you seen those 1-800-GOT-JUNK? guys?" The other DJs started yelling, "Yeah those junk removal guys are awesome, I was on Main St. in Huntington Beach and those guys made my day."

Trash Removers Like to Have Fun
At the annual Christmas parade in El Segundo California, the 1-800-GOT-JUNK? trash removal crew show off their exciting culture. "Wearing the blue wigs is as much a part of 1-800-GOT-JUNK? as physically removing junk," operations manager Brent Jameson says. "It's a reminder not to take yourself so seriously. It keeps us grounded, and energized." Having a fun and exciting culture is a huge part of the success of 1-800-GOT-JUNK?. "Work hard, play hard. It's our mantra." As proof, here we are at it again with one of our crazy waves!
Helping Out The Needy
Helping out those in need is without a doubt the most rewarding part of owning a 1-800-GOT-JUNK? franchise. Franchise partner, Terry Miller, recently read about a single mother and her disabled daughter who lost everything in an apartment fire. They were able to get another apartment, but the extent of their possessions was limited to the clothes on their backs. Terry immediately contacted the mother, Dee, and told her that he would help. The next day, 1-800-GOT-JUNK? arrived with a truckload of furniture, clothes, dishes, and even a hospital bed for her disabled daughter. Their appreciation and the priceless smiles on their faces are what make giving back the most rewarding part of this business.
Cat Turns Up in Junk Search
A lady was moving from Long Beach to San Pedro. We removed a full truckload of junk with a couch, boxes, mattress and some other items on a Friday. After the pickup was done and we had left, the truck phone rang and it was the lady saying she could not find her cat Romeo. We looked though all the boxes of junk at the donation center and found no cat. On Monday, someone came and bought the couch from Goodwill and took it home. They felt a lump in the couch move. It was Romeo! We returned the cat to the customer who was extremely grateful.
