Hi, I’m Brad Whitmore, your local owner and operator of Montreal Ouest’s 1-800-GOT-JUNK? franchise. I have had a four and half year career with 1-800-GOT-JUNK? in both the franchisor and franchisee capacity. I have owned the West Island and Laval junk hauling franchise since November of 2006. I moved from Vancouver to la belle province in January of 2007 to open and operate my new investment.
You can often find me and my junk hauling crew wearing big blue wigs waving to cars on Boulvard St Jeans or St Charles. Since opening in March of 2007, we have serviced nearly 2,000 customers with the goal of providing a "wow" experience. Our early success has come from gaining visibility through our truck parking, 1-800-GOT-JUNK? lawn signs, door hangers, waves, and by talking with people about our full-service junk removal.
We have stayed focused on South West Laval and most of the West Island. We have done a number of commercial jobs in Fairview Shopping Centre, Colonades Point Claire, Blue Haven Shopping Centre, Beaconsfield Village, Dorval Industrial Sector, St Laurent, Carrefour Laval, Notre Dame Plaza in Laval, and for many high end retailers such as Guess, Winners, Christian D'Or, La Senza, Suzy Sheer, Fairweather, and Best Buy. We continue to build relationships with our commercial and residential customers with 40% of our business coming from repeat and referrals.

I have been working closely with Business Networking International (BNI), CAAIQ and RE/MAX Quebec to help build important relationships in the commercial arenas. We are a contributor to the West Island Community Shares (WICS), a charity that touches one in five West Island families through community programs. We help both financially and with truck support for events. We have been known to furnish apartments for those in need through programs with charities and the city. We donate a full truck each year to the West Island Presbytarian Church Alliance's annual garage sale. We also worked with the kids at Loyola, LCC, Selwyn House, and Kuper Academy to pick up and drop off used hockey equipment for kids in Nunavit who don't have gear to play hockey.
We have picked up some pretty crazy junk over the years. We removed over half a truck of manequins and nealy a full truck of fake teeth molds for a dentist's office.Talk about got junk!
In the end, no matter what the job is, I am happy we can make our customer's lives easier. There is one consistent theme with every job we do - there is always a look of relief on our customers' faces. It's a fun process to find a way to make their experience with us a special one.

Our office is located on the West Island, right on South Service Road of Autoroute/Highway 20 in Dorval. It's at 2352 Herron Road. Heading southbound on Boulevard des Sources from Dollard-des-Ormeaux, pass through Pointe Claire, heading to Dorval. Take the Montreal exit (the 20 east exit) and this will pass right in front of our office. We are only five minutes south-west of the Pierre Trudeau Airport between the Dorval Circle and the St Jean's exit off the 20. Our mailing address is 3484 Boul des Sources #309 in DDO, H9B 1Z9.

Hi, we are Gilles Dube and Ross Horrocks, your local 1-800-GOT-JUNK? Franchise Partners for the Monteregie area. Opening our junk hauling doors in September 2006, we were one of the first 1-800-GOT-JUNK? junk hauling franchises in the province of Quebec.
You can see our junk hauling team waving to cars at busy intersections in Longueuil on Rolland Therrien Boulevard, St-Charles Street , Victoria in Saint-Lambert, Mortagne in Boucherville, or on Tachereau Boulevard almost any time of day.
From day one, we knew there was a need for full-service junk removal. Today, there are several other 1-800-GOT-JUNK? franchises in the area expanding our Quebec presence with a total of more than 25 junk removal trucks helping customers throughout the greater Montreal area every day.

Before becoming a junk expert I was a sale's representative for a hardwood floor company. Ross was looking for a new challenge and came across a 1-800-GOT-JUNK? truck at a franchise show in Montreal. He saw the junk hauling truck and realized the amazing opportunity and challenge that 1-800-GOT-JUNK? had in store. A few months later we both traded our suits and ties for blue uniforms and clean, shiny trucks!

1-800-GOT-JUNK? lends a hand

Montreal's1-800-GOT-JUNK? franchises had the privilege of taking part in a project to equip young hockey players in Nunavik with much needed second-hand equipment. The program was led by a group of students from Lower Canada College and Selwyn House schools. It involved five local Montreal schools gathering used equipment. 1-800-GOT-JUNK? volunteered their trucks to do the pick ups from the schools and to transport the equipment to a place to get it cleaned. Helping a Family in Need

Montreal Ouest's 1-800-GOT-JUNK? franchise were able to furnish an apartment with items from a junk job for a single mother and her three children. The family had just arrived from Haiti and were thrilled to receive a complete living room set, TV with stand, microwave, dishes, side tables, and beds for the children. They previously had been sleeping on the floor.

Cleaning up after Montreal's National Homeshow

It is with great pride that 1-800-GOT-JUNK? established a partnership with Expo Media Inc. at the Montreal National Home Show, held at Place Bonaventure. The primary goal of our joint effort was to assist over 500 exhibitors to dispose of their floor displays in a responsible and environmentally concious fashion. 1-800-GOT-JUNK? is not just about junk removal, it’s about the environment. In previous years, these displays were taken to the dump. This year, thanks to 1-800-GOT-JUNK? Franchise Partners, for the first time more than 60% of the 40-50 tons of debris were either recycled or disposed of in an environmentally friendly way. In addition, the promoters of the event were most impressed by the 1-800-GOT-JUNK? team’s professionalism and efficiency. An outstanding mission accomplished!

Our Truck Team Member Chris Lyness was drafted to the NHL at a young age and is now playing professionally in Europe. At 29, Chris has come back to his home town of Baie D'Urfé to work for the summer and begin building a future with a company that he can feel proud working for. He has excelled at his job and is sure to have a bright future with our 1-800-GOT-JUNK? company.

Paul Smelser has been working for 1-800-GOT-JUNK? West Island and Laval since it's infancy. In addition to being a top junk ninja, Paul is becoming a well-known song writer in the thriving downtown music scene.You can find him performing at Grumpy's and Bar Fly.
