Hi I’m Eduardo Torres and I am your local owner and operator of the 1-800-GOT-JUNK? franchise servicing South East Florida. I started my junk removal business in 2003 and since then we have done all kinds of junk removal from the heart of Miami to Coral Gables, Aventura, Pinecrest, Weston, Miramar and more. Remodelers, contractors, real estate agents, property managers, estate attorneys and many others have used our junk hauling service in Miami to clean out debris, office furniture, and just about any other junk one can imagine. Our 1-800-GOT-JUNK? team even handled a thirty truck load job for a national property manager on one day’s notice!
Residential customers also rely on our Miami junk hauling services. Just because there has been significant growth in the commercial sector doesn’t mean that we don’t do garage clean outs every day. It’s a big part of the business and it will continue to be so. Residential jobs also afford our team an upside that commercial business usually doesn’t—residential customers get rid of furniture and other household goods that can oftentimes be taken to charities. We’ve taken truckloads of perfectly usable furniture to charities like Women in Distress and Non-Violence Project USA.
We’ve also used our 1-800-GOT-JUNK? trucks to assist organizations like the Red Cross and AmeriCorps help hurricane victims rebuild their homes. We’ve provided junk hauling crews and removed truckloads of junk so these homes could be rebuilt. It’s definitely a "feel good" thing.
We’ve been fortunate to receive a lot of local press. In November 2004, almost a year after launching my junk removal operation in Miami, we were profiled in the weekly Business Monday Magazine and we generated enough interest to appear in other Miami area media, including the Miami Herald newspaper, The Sun-Sentinel and even a profile in Univision’s "Control" national TV program.
The office is located just off the never-ending traffic center of Miami, The Golden Glades Interchange. This is literally the highway nerve center of all of Miami-County. It is the crossroads for Interstate 95, The Florida Turnpike, Northwest 167th Street, and the the highway Miami locals love to hate, State Road 826, known here as The Palmetto. Being so close to the Golden Glades gives us convenient access to every main highway in Miami Dade and we can be anywhere in our territory within 45 minutes. It also makes it relatively easy for people to come visit us.

My name is Jeff "Happy Day" Pasternack and I own 1-800-GOT-JUNK?'s junk hauling operations in Palm Beach County. After a horrible experience with a junk removal company in the area, I opened up 1-800-GOT-JUNK? in March of 2005 with the notion that my high-touch brand of customer service would be welcomed by the community. Within a week of opening, we did a project for the City of Boca Raton where we removed six truckloads of junk from a house on Palmetto Park Road in Boca Raton. It was also hard to imagine that just a few months earlier, I had been happily toiling away as a technology consultant and as a columnist. My column, The Techno Peasant Review, was published monthly for six years in The Medical Bulletin and other magazines, such as Chiropractic Economics, Association Trends and Executive Update, ran selected pieces.
I belong to the Florida Assisted Living Affiliation (FALA), BNI, The Chambers of Commerce for West Palm Beach, Boynton Beach, Boca Raton and West Boca Raton. Our trash hauling crew work with quite a few charities in Palm Beach County, most notably Aid to Victims of Domestic Abuse (AVDA). We've helped do trash removals for many great clients, including Mizner Park, Mizner Court, Phillips Point, Gables Property Management, Classic Residences by Hyatt, Sunrise Assisted Living, Asset Specialists, Applefield Waxman and so many others.
In 2005 my 1-800-GOT-JUNK? franchise finished in the top 3 system-wide for customer service and in 2006 we finished #1. I think this reflects our relentless dedication to providing Boca Raton and Delray Beach homeowners and businesses the best customer service possible. We mercilessly regale our customers with the phrases “happy day” and "your convenience is my pleasure" to convey how serious we take customer service and I think that message is being received. Our goal is to leave nothing but smiles in our junk-free wake and based on the community's response, I think we're accomplishing that.

Prior to owing my junk removal business I was the managing partner for Romanos Macaroni Grill for 11 years. I grew up in the restaurant business but I was ready for a change. You have probably seen my junk hauling crew on Commercial Blvd east of Dixie wearing blue wigs doing some kind of dance on top of our junk trucks. Or perhaps they were on University and Atlantic Blvd close to the Coral Square Mall promoting our junk hauling service. We are very environmentally friendly, recycling almost 70% of what we pick up. For example, we recycle all metal, and bulk amount of paper goods. All our construction material is separated at the local dump and we donate all the furniture that is reusable to the local churches such as Calvary Chapel and the Humane Society. The reason I love this business is because every trash removal is different. We never know what we have to do or how clean or dirty the job is going to be.

I own both the Fort Lauderdale and Palm Beach Gardens 1-800-GOT-JUNK? franchises and I have been offering an easy junk removal solution for over three years. Before entering the wonderful world of junk, I owned Out To Lunch, a local restaurant located on US HWY 1. Before that I held several chef positions at The Breakers Hotel in Palm Beach. After starting my junk removal franchise in Ft. Lauderdale in October of 2005, the area was struck by a very destructive hurricane. Within weeks my crew and I had the pleasure of helping many residents and commercial clients clean up after the storm and get back to their normal lives. Since the storm, we have performed junk removals ranging from a 25 truckload job in Tamarac, a single couch in Ft. Lauderdale, yard waste clean up in Singer Island to an entire condo clean out at Old Port Cove in North Palm Beach. We’ve also done over 20 foreclosures in Loxahatchee, Jupiter and Palm Beach Gardens for several different real estate agents.
You may have seen our junk removal crews wearing blue wigs and waving on the corner of Broward and US HWY 1, at Military Trail and Northlake Blvd in Palm Beach Gardens, or you may have seen our junk removal convoy traveling to and from jobs on PGA Blvd. We have seven junk removal trucks traveling to and from jobs in your community to help our customers get rid of their junk.
We currently donate almost 30% of our junk to local charities like Faith Farm Ministries, The Good Will on Broward Blvd or The Salvation Army. We also recycle approximately 20% of the items we pick up at Delta Recycling center located just south of HWY 595 on State Road 7.

Jewelry Turns Up In Property Cleaning
Michael Stolar, a Boynton Beach resident, had 1-800-GOT-JUNK? come out to do a property clean up of his mother's home after six months of effort. He was shocked when 1-800-GOT-JUNK? found an old coffee can filled with jewelry. "I couldn't ask for better people to come do this job," Stolar said.
Debris Removal For Hurricane Victim
Joyce Smith of West Palm Beach had her home devastated by hurricanes and the city was fining her $50 a day. 1-800-GOT-JUNK? cleared out three truckloads of debris at no charge. "Oh, this is so good, my grandchildren can play in my yard again."
Recognition For Hurricane Clean Up
Miami franchise owner, Eduardo Torres, received a phone call from the Miami Dade chapter of the American Red Cross. They were looking for someone who would volunteer help to remove "some household items" from a house whose roof had been damaged by one of the hurricanes. It was a community project and they were looking for help from a number of companies. We quickly agreed to help out. In hindsight it wasn't surprising that the original estimate of about a half a truck became four full trucks of debris and two days of work, but we were happy to do it. What was pleasantly surprising was that we were recognized by The Red Cross and AmeriCorps as one the two principal contributors to this community effort. At the work completion ceremony, in the presence of Miami-Dade's mayor, Carlos Alvarez, we were one of two companies that received plaques in recognition of our efforts and contributions towards the site clean up.
Free Junk Removal Contests
We believe in helping out the community and one of the ways we do that is by participating with local radio stations in their community efforts. Whether it's blood drives by The Coast 97.3 FM or food drives by Big 105.9 FM, we have given free junk removal services and incentives for people to donate blood and/or food. The winner of the last food drive by 105.9 FM received a full truck of junk removal for free. Obviously they were extremely pleased.
Sponsoring Youth Sports in Weston
Our community efforts extend to sponsoring local sports teams for kids. The past year we sponsored a Weston AYSO youth soccer team. They were kind enough to give us a plaque as a token of their gratitude.
