Hi, we’re Chris and Jennifer Gammill, your local 1-800-GOT-JUNK? owners and operators. We’ve been hauling junk in the Memphis area for five years now. We left the airline industry, flew into a life of Junk and haven’t looked back! You can find our 1-800-GOT-JUNK? trucks roaming the streets from the heart of downtown Memphis to Germantown, Collierville, Cordova, and Arlington down to the northern Mississippi towns of Olive Branch, Southaven, Horn Lake and Walls. We chose 1-800-GOT-JUNK? because it aligned with two things we knew well - customer service and recycling. We both have considerable experience in customer service and we are solid environmentalists.

Currently, the franchise has goals of recycling over 100 tons and donating to charities over 100 times each year -- goals we are currently blowing out of the water! We work with Shelby Farms Park Conservancy planning their annual "Down to Earth" Earth Day Event each year. Also, we volunteer our team several times a year to work with Youth Villages, a home for abused children. We have adopted Germantown Parkway from the State’s Adopt a Highway Program to further our environmental cause. This two mile stretch of Germantown Parkway cuts directly through the heart of our territory and we can be seen several times a month cleaning the roadsides and waving to cars with our blue wigs on. Each year we volunteer our trucks and team for the City of Germantown's annual Amnesty Day cleanups. Residents of this city can bring bulky items to a central location that the city trash normally won't take for disposal. We remove and recycle all the metal , with the proceeds benefiting the city. We love 1-800-GOT-JUNK? because it allows us to give back to our community and do something good for the environment.

Shelby Farms Park Conservancy

In 2007, 1-800-GOT-JUNK? Memphis volunteered to help Shelby Farms Park Conservancy make Shelby Farms a better park. We worked with kids to help them understand the importance of recycling to the environment. For the adults, we provided all the logistics and supplies to help them plant trees and shrubs around the park. In 2008 we will be doing this again!

Youth Villages Soup Sunday at the FedEx Forum

For Youth Villages, we provided a day of activities for children during Soup Sunday at the FedEx Forum to help them understand the importance of recycling and being "Green".

Help for Illegal Dumping

Sometimes companies and shopping plazas become the target of illegal dumping. On one such occasion, we helped an out of town manager remove tons of debris that were attracting rats and starting to smell.

Professional Junk Removal Comes to Memphis

1-800-GOT-JUNK? expanding to North Mississippi

Thanks to continued growth in its commercial business, 1-800-GOT-JUNK? is expanding its franchise with two locations to serve North Mississippi. The expansion, which will expand our services into Southaven, Horn Lake, Olive Branch and Walls, Miss., is expected to increase the company’s revenue by 25%, driving overall revenues to around $400,000 annually by the end of 2009.

“We are working toward increasing growth 50%,” says Chris Gammill, Memphis-area 1-800-GOT-JUNK? franchise owner. “There is a lot of growth potential in commercial and residential (in Mississippi), and we have just barely scratched the surface.”

1-800-GOT-JUNK? Franchise Branches into Commercial

When others see the recent economic woes as a time to scale back, Chris Gammill, franchise partner for 1-800-GOT-JUNK?, sees green.

The "junk" disposal specialty business has seen its gross revenues grow by more than 15% to about $400,000 this year thanks to a new business plan that is focusing on meeting the need of commercial property managers dealing with newly vacated space.

"We've found that this is going to be a great niche market for us," Gammill says. "In a downturn economy, people are still doing business, but people are moving to smaller offices. All of the furniture doesn't fit in the new office."
