Territory: Junk Removal - London
Address:
Hi, I'm Andrew de Boer, your local 1-800-GOT-JUNK owner and operator for junk removal in the London, Ontario area. Five years ago I left a position with my in-law's business to open my very own 1-800-GOT-JUNK? junk removal franchise. Growing up in London, it was a pleasure for me to move back to the area where I grew up. It was a lot of fun operating in London and getting back to areas like Port Stanley, St Thomas, Strathroy, Aylmer, Ilderton and Grand Bend. Over the past five years, we've helped out over 8000 clients remove all sorts of unwanted items from furniture, construction debris, renovation debris and general home, office and yard clean ups.
In 2006, 1-800-GOT-JUNK? was proud to work with London Hydro and their Chill Out Program and take over 5000 old fridges, freezers and air conditioners off the hydro grid and save people thousands of dollars in electricity costs. Also in 2006, Aaron Bell joined my team as Operations Manager after living and working in Strathroy and St Thomas. Aaron has played a key role in increasing our recycling and donation activities so that we now divert over 60% of what we pick up from ending up in landfills. Since both Aaron and I have small children, we're happy to be working for a greener earth!
1-800-GOT-JUNK? is an active member of the local London community belonging to and participating in such organizations as the London Chamber of Commerce, the London Property Managers Association (LPMA), the London Home Builders Association (LHBA), the London Executive Association (LEA), the London Small Business Centre (where Andrew also belongs to the Entrepreneur's club), and we are accredited members of the Better Business Bureau of Western Ontario. At 1-800-GOT-JUNK?, we help lots of people move their homes and not their junk and we've been affiliated with the London & St Thomas Association of Realtors for many years now. So, if you need to get rid of any junk in London, St Thomas, Aylmer, Strathroy or anywhere else in Oxford, Middlesex or Elgin counties, call 1-800-GOT-JUNK?!
Our office is at 954 Leathorne St, near the intersection of Adelaide & Commissioners Rd East. Just down the road from the London Food Bank and close to London Health Sciences New Victoria Hospital at Wellington & Commissioners Rd.
Junk pick-up:
"This morning we had one of your trucks come to remove a lot of our "junk". I just wanted to comment on the 2 men who came to our house. These two guys were wonderful. They were friendly and helpful and they did an amazing job for us. They worked hard and quickly and they left the cleaned up area spotless. It's nice to know there are still companies out there who know all about customer service."-- Jon, London, April 2006
"In our real estate team's experience, 1-800-GOT-JUNK? Is an excellent firm to recommend to our clients who need to prepare their homes for sale."-- Joyce, Associate Broker
"We want to thank you so much for coming to our "rescue" on Friday. The crew you sent us were excellent. They worked very hard and were friendly people. Good luck with your business and thank you so much."-- Elizabeth & Bob, London, Sept. 2005
"What an awesome job!!"-- Sandra, London, Dec. 2007
Andrew de Boer, owner of 1-800-GOT-JUNK?'s London franchise, is a volunteer extraordinaire with the London Chamber of Commerce. He is seen around the 101-244 Pall Mall as much as his junk removal trucks are seen around London. He has chaired Business After Five and been on various committees, including the 2007 Golf Committee. Read more about how de Boer lends his leadership experience from running a junk pickup business to the London Chamber of Commerce.
In 2007 we were proud to help out with the Yard Sale for the Cure in London. Over a period of a few months, we were picking out good items from our junk removals. Then we sold the "junk" at a garage sale to help raise money for breast cancer research. We were pleased to raise $600 locally and help participate in an event that raised thousands of dollars across the country. One man's junk is another man's treasure. Read about the London Regional Cancer Program.
In November of 2007 we participated in our first London Santa Clause Parade as "Santa's junk pickup crew". The parade began on Kellogg's Lane and ended on Ridout Street. Our team of enthusiastic blue wigged junk removers walked the parade collecting empty coffee cups and other garbage from people viewing the parade. We picked up over 30 bags of garbage, almost filling 1/4 of our 1-800-GOT-JUNK? junk truck! We were very happy to provide the extra junk removal service for the parade and help clean up London for the big guy in red's arrival! We look forward to contributing our junk removal services in this parade for years to come.
In a joint community project with Q97.5 EZ-Rock in spring 2007 we staged a free junk removal day at the radio station located on Wellington St between Southdale and Commissioners. In the four hours we were at the radio station, we collected 21 full truckloads (over 15 tonnes) of trash/junk from London residents. The junk included everything from one old chair to a lady who had her entire mini-van filled with wood from an old deck! We look forward to holding this junk removal event again in 2008 and in years to come.
