Hi, my name is Doug McCray, and my brother Casey and I are the proud owners of the 1-800-GOT-JUNK? franchise in Gainesville and Ocala in Florida. Before getting into the junk removal business, I played four years of baseball at Randolph-Macon College and worked part time for the McCray Oil Company, which is owned by my two uncles.
In 2005, Casey and I jumped at the opportunity to purchase and grow a 1-800-GOT-JUNK? franchise. We were inspired by the company's huge commitment to customer service that ensures everyone who calls 1-800-GOT-JUNK? is blown away by an excellent junk removal experience.
Gainesville, Ocala and the surrounding area is an amazing community in which to build a locally owned and operated trash hauling business. Together, the city and the University of Florida create an incredibly high quality of life. Since moving here in 2005, our whole family has adopted the University of Florida and the ""Gators"". It is quite exciting to be a part of that experience.
As board members for Keep Alachua Beautiful we are active with volunteer projects, especially those involving equipment and personnel. In 2007, together with the Gainesville City Police, Keep Alachua County Beautiful, and students from University of Florida, we provided our junk trucks and junk hauling experts in a full day cleanup in the Porter's neighborhood. Later in the year we also participated in a city-wide cleanup in which we cleaned up the interchange at I-75 and Williston Road.
Junk pick-up:
“What a wonderful experience I had with 1-800-GOT-JUNK?. I called in as a result of seeing one of the junk trucks on the road this morning and it was wonderful. They were quick, they had a plan, and the prices were reasonable. I have been going to the dump for years, but now I just don't have time for that. You are just wonderful.”-- Monique, Gainesville, Jul 2007
“The service was very good. I was extremely happy and the crew that came to my home was very professional. What a pleasant surprise!”-- Ronna, Gainesville, Oct 2007
“The best my job site has ever looked! 1-800-GOT-JUNK? provided same-day service after just a phone call. The area was swept clean, done when I needed it, and there were no dumpsters on-site, which helps my projects appear more appealing for weekend prospective buyers.”-- Evan, Gainesville, Apr 2007
