Junk Removal - Of The Carolina's

Hi, I’m David Pennebaker, owner and operator of 1-800-GOT-JUNK? of the Carolina’s. Back in 1999 as a general contractor, one of the largest problems I faced was cost effective disposal of construction debris. Small jobs didn’t justify the cost of a dumpster, and on city jobs I couldn’t place a dumpster. When I used dumpsters they would get filled up by neighbors, and after I would have to restore landscaping or deal with upset owners because the driveway got scratched or dented when the dumpster was dropped. Plus, my carpenters' time was better used doing things other than cleaning up. In 2001 I saw a 1-800-GOT-JUNK? truck and decided to call and see what they were all about. The experience was awesome. They showed up on time, quoted the job upfront, loaded all of the debris from the building (it wasn’t piled up neatly for them), then swept up my site and hauled everything away. It was so easy and cost effective relative to my other options that I used 1-800-GOT-JUNK? on most jobs from there on and to clean out my own house prior to moving to the Carolina’s. Something I didn’t know back in 2001 was just how committed 1-800-GOT-JUNK? is to responsible waste removal. Watching the company over several years I saw them transitioning from a company that provides junk removal and outstanding customer service to a company committed to recycling. Now system-wide we recycle up to 60% of the materials we collect. I was so impressed with 1-800-GOT-JUNK?, the service it provides, and their commitment to the environment that I bought the rights to Western North Carolina and the Upstate region of South Carolina. Since we opened 1--800-GOT-JUNK? of the Carolina’s in 2008, we have sought out ways to continue the commitment to the environment and ways to give back to the communities we service locally. Look around and you’ll see us at recycling facilities off-loading cardboard, Habitat for Humanity and Goodwill donating reusable goods, Biltmore Iron recycling metal, or working with volunteers from Asheville GreenWorks or Quality Forward picking up trash along roads and out of the rivers, or at Charlotte Street Computer ‘s e-waste facility E-cycleme off-loading e-waste. We are also committed to customer service. You can expect a call 15-30 minutes before your scheduled appointment and we arrive inside our scheduled window. Our crews are friendly and uniformed and our trucks are shiny and clean. You get a price up front and we clean up before we leave. We believe in commitment - commitment to the environment, commitment to the community we service, commitment to our employees, and above all commitment to serving you. Let us know if you see us living up to our commitments, or if you notice that we don't. Send us an email.

“I was looking for quick and convenient and that's what I got. I made an appointment online around 1:00 pm and by 3:30 pm, my junk was gone!”
    -- Michael Q., Asheville, Feb 2009
“Quick, efficient and helpful staff. It was so wonderful to let go and have your staff confidently take on the task of cleaning out our junk. We will never wast our time renting a dumpster again.”
    -- Louis T., Asheville, Feb 2009
“Your team removed everything I wanted gone and did it very fast without doing any damage and without leaving any mess. It felt good to get rid of all that clutter and the more than 170 boxes which the trash company would not remove. Thank you for helping us out.”
    -- Robert H., Hendersonville, Apr 2009
“You have really friendly junk removers and great pricing compared to your competition. You removed a barn from my property and your junk team had to hand carry it up a hill to your truck. They showed up on time, went right to work and four hours later, my barn was gone.”
    -- Grace S., Fletcher, Jan 2009

    Helping Clean Up Neighborhoods

Asheville GreenWorks and our 1-800-GOT-JUNK? Asheville franchise offered a free junk removal day to the South French Broad Neighborhood on February 21, 2009. Residents gathered up broken or unwanted goods, brought them to the curb ,and our 1-800-GOT-JUNK? team hauled the items away at no charge.

Asheville South French Broad Neighborhood Clean Up

The Asheville 1-800-GOT-JUNK? junk hauling team assisted the citizens of the South French Broad Neighborhood to clean up.

We committed to helping them by donating our junk hauling trucks and Truck Team Memebers to collect junk from their yards, ravines, and homes. Asheville Greenworks organizedvolunteers to assist with picking up litter, and the county graciously donated free dumping for the debris collected. Times are tough for all of us right now, but the people of the SFB neighborhood are showing tremendous civic pride. Our 1-800-GOT-JUNK? team are happy to be a part of it.

    1-800-GOT-JUNK? collects E-Waste for E-cycleme.com

When E-cycleme.com, Asheville’s new computer recycling center, had their and opening our 1-800-GOT-JUNK? team was on hand to assist with the collection of all recyclables. Thank you Asheville for helping clean

Asheville's 1-800-GOT-JUNK? junk hauling team helping the Big Sweep

In the fall of 2008, we sponsored Quality Forward's "NC Big Sweep," a volunteer-based river cleanup of the French Broad and Swannanoa Rivers.  Over 100 people volunteered their Saturday to clean trash and tires from the river using rafts, canoes, and waders.

The 1-800-GOT-JUNK? team, plus my two children, drove along the river picking up what the rubbish and debris the volunteers pulled out. Believe it or not, we collected 6260 lbs of trash and 98 tires for a total of close to 10,000 lbs of litter.

Thank you to all of the volunteers, and for letting us be a part of the effort. We would also like to thank the Buncombe County Transfer Station for donating the dump fees, and to Buncombe County Landfill for accepting the tires at no-charge. Asheville is a beautiful place and its great to know so many people will work so hard to keep it that way.
